ISUZU EXPANDS 2024 MU-X RANGE WITH MORE-EFFICIENT OPTIONS
The 2024 MU-X range for the first time, offers customers the choice of two turbo-diesel engines; the 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX with 140kW/450Nm and the RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre with 110kW/350Nm.
Both four-cylinder engines are coupled to an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission, with 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain options available.
These give a fuel economy of just 7.4L/100km.
The 2024 prices start with the MU-X LS-M 1.9L 4x2 at just $47,400 before on-road costs, and topping out with the MU-X LS-T 3.0L 4x4 at $67,990 drive away.
The 1.9-litre engine is available in three variants: LS-M 4x2, LS-M 4x4, and LS-U 4x4—positioning the new engine option as the pragmatic choice of motorists who value affordability, efficiency, and capability.
Value for money remains at the heart of the MU-X, a claim that was recently validated by Wheels Magazine, when they awarded the Isuzu MU-X the winner of their ‘Best Value 4x4 SUV’ award in late-2023.
Wheels went beyond the initial vehicle price, analysing real-world ownership costs over three years, such as insurance premiums, depreciation, and fuel and servicing costs to determine that the Isuzu MU-X is the best value 4x4 SUV to buy and own.
For 2024, the MU-X range continues to offer the same high-level of standardised equipment, affording motorists unmatched value for money.
Pricing across the 2024 Isuzu MU-X range has had minor increases of $500 to $2,000; marking the first price increase to the range in two years.
Engineered for a wide range of uses, including commuting and travelling vast distances, the unique Australian-specification RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre delivers linear and progressive torque across the entire rev-range.
Since its local debut in 2022, this small-but-mighty engine has earnt a reputation with motorists, business fleets, and the media as a quiet, torquey and fuel-efficient engine; a welcomed arrival just as diesel fuel prices soared to record heights.
With an official combined-cycle fuel consumption rating of 7.4 Litres/100km; RZ4E powered MU-X models have the ability of travelling upwards of 1,000-kilometres on its 80-litre tank of diesel.
Maximum braked towing capacity for MU-X models fitted with the 1.9-litre engine is 3,000kg+, with the Gross Combination Mass (GCM) coming in at 5,500kg.
Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) is dependent on drivetrain, with 4x2 and 4x4 models coming in at 2,700kg and 2,800kg, respectively.
The 1.9-litre models have increased payload capacities, with the MU-X LS-M 1.9L 4x4 able to carry up to 735kg—which positions it towards the top of its class.
All 24MY Isuzu MU-X models are backed by IUA’s upgraded Service Plus customer care program, encompassing a five-year Flat Price Servicing Program, a six-year/150,000km warranty, and up to seven-year roadside assistance.
